Help Me Go Faster

hey guys its me again except i got my new pc with xp pro loaded.
all i tweaked so far was the QoS thing is there anything else to make my upload and download faster?

TCP options string = 020405b401010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 64240
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS

Looks fine. Nothing is without need of improvement... but that looks okay.

Your settings look fine. If you have cablenut, then you can edit your DefaultSendWindow. Set it to 64240 and reboot.

Download the SG_tweak-w2k patch available here: http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/ ... ches.shtml follow the install instructions then reboot your machine.

After rebooting take the SG Analyzer test again and post the results here. Also do a speed test and post those results as well.

You should have read my post twice. I said he should set his DefaultSendWindow to 64240, not his DefaultRcvWindow. He said he wanted to make his upload faster.

Ok how do i edit the DefautSendwindow
i d/l and installed the patch here are my current settings

You're maxing your speeds pretty much. Ive done all the tweaking I can, and I pull the same speeds you do.

Could be but @home is capped differently depending on which system you're on. Mine is capped at 3000/300

Well, hes gettin 116Kbps upstream, so most likely he has the 128Kbps upload cap.

lol u guys are good =) i have adelphia though and i think they said upload is capped at 128/kbs but then how come i only get 15/kb? i need that to goto like 30/kb then ill be real happy lol

The speed test you posted said that you're uploading at 116 kbps. It could be that the server you're uploading to is a dial-up connection.

Cap is 128Kbps, or 16KBps.

You're gettin 15KBps, which is the max.

Earthmofo how the heck are you getting those speeds i also have Cox@home have all the tweaks i can find installed and have them configured and speed tested to get the fastest and most stable i can email me or hit me up on icq amn id like to see if i can squeeze a few more kbps out of this thing Thx!

Though I have my machines tweaked to the max it's not the only reason I'm getting great speeds. A few weeks ago I started getting some really slow speeds around 25-50 Kb/s.

I called tech support and they ran the usual tests with no results. Got transfered to tech 2 support and they ran additional tests but everything seemed fine. They rolled a truck out to my house and checked the lines and signal strength but all was fine.

About a week later my speeds went through the roof. Wondering why I called tech support and they said they had isolated the problem. Cox had re-configured some nodes in my area because of the upcomming switch to their own network and made an error. The one I was on became too congested. They re-configured again and now I'm on a node not shared with too many other conections.

Even though I'm still capped at 3000/300 I'm getting better speeds because the bandwidth is much better on mu uncongested node

I hope when they switch over to their own network I still get the same speeds.
