...and reveals a very sloppy design. If I didn't know better, I'd swear it was a PC.

Last week the guys on The Screen Savers (TechTV) had one ripped apart and operating on the top of a table. They were laughing cause it looks like a mini-pc and hinting at ways it might be hacked. Bigger HD, etc...

now if they make a gamecube that fits in a 5 1/4 bay on my PC and plays games off that with a plug to a 4 controller conector then i'll buy one, tho its nice to see nintendo still keeping things kinda cheap

The hardware design/layout says a lot about the company and the effort put into it. Would you buy a car without looking under the hood?

I really don't care what it looks like under the plastic as long as it performs. It's not a car, it's a $300 game console. I didn't buy one to impress people by the way it looks, I bought it to do what it supposed to do, play games, not win beauty pageants.

Name all of the hardware in the gamecube and in the ps2. All gaming systems have parts that would be part of a pc.

I know they share certain components with PC's, but if MS had taken the time to refine the design the X-Box wouldn't have to be so damn big. It's like they took a full fledged PC motherboard and just slapped it in there.

Maybe yours does, my center is quite full with a VCR, SNES, Saturn, N64, Dreamcast and GameCube currently hooked up.

Damn you freaking bashers give it a break. If it does what it was built to do and does it well, that's what's is good. You people are too much. Stick with a PC? Well a PC does not travel very well unless it's an expensive laptop. I do a lot of traveling and will be getting a X-BOX. I will enjoy the hell out of it while you ABMers continue to run you mouths. Ripping apart a console and critisizing how it looks. This has to be a new low.

It is the size of a small vcr.... so what?! This is not a laptop computer, tacklebox or a ladies' handbag, it is a game console. Plug it in and play!
