What is everbody capped at ??
HEY INTERNET TWEAKERS, I was just wondering what everyone's internet connection is capped at or what plan there using ?
I'm with @home, and my connection is capped at 2Mbits. I'm paying $45 and I was wondering if that is a rip off ?
Now, is that good or bad ?
Finally, can someone tell me what 2 Mbits is equal to in KBytes ???
Please, everyone post.

My download cap is 1.5Mbps, I get 1.520Mbps... And I pay $14.99 more than you. But my download speeds are guaranteed, unlike cable.
2mbits = 250KBytes

Um... You are on OOL right? That doesn't count
What Bandwagon? I'm telling you written facts. Cable is NOT guaranteed.. I know many people with cable who used to have great speeds until their node was packed
Again, OOL doesn't count!

I think we pay $39.95 for 512/128 kbps
To go from mega- to kilo-, multiply by 1000. To go from bits to bytes, divide by 8. This works for connection speeds, like megabits per sec, kilobytes per sec, etc. as well as file sizes. So to go from 2 Mbps to kBps, multiply by 1000 and then divide by 8, or just multiply by 125.

It's better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
We live in a somewhat rural area here, so technology gets here slowly. We have ELN DSL. The only other choice for high speed access is RR. I don't know how it compares in our area, in terms of price, speed, or reliability. I know a friend who has RR. He loves the speed, but says he has problems a lot. We never have any problems.

I'm capped at 3 mbps down/256 kbps up for $45 per month--kind of high what others get, but this is the only cable modem service available. I actually get 2500-3030 mbps down/200 to 230 kbps up. Wish I can go more faster
Computer specs:

nothing down for cap, just the dang 512kb up cap.
who dat Evil
guy that says DSL gets guaranteed speed rates?
bah humbug to that . Even if my node was maxed (250 users)
and all downloading a huge file(s) at the exact same time, my
cable speed would still be better then the 1.2Mb crap in DSL offered here.
ok, thats my 3 pennies worth
