Any1 else experiencing this problem?? Put your response please

Post by tweak101 »

Hi, I posted some threads regarding the problem I'm having rite now is that my download speed drop dramatically. Back then I used to get around 600 KB/s on download with RWIN 513920 (which I found best for me) and now I can only go up to 120 KB/s is the max I got so far.

So the question I wanna ask is that am I being capped??

Anyone else getting this problem???

If so did u get it back up where you were, what did you do???

Thanks!

Please click in my signature where it says Test tweak here, then:
At top where it says edit click and select, Select all,
Then go back to same edit button at top, click and select copy.
Come back to Speedguide, same thread you were on, in post reply box, with cursor blinking at begining of box go to top, edit, click, select paste, click, this will put information in box. Please X out your IP address, Thank you. :)

TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 55 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
--------------------------------

Hi, Lobo...Beside that RWIN I also try ALL the possible RWINs I found in this forum like 4xxxxx, 5xxxxx whatever. I mean all of them but the speed still stuck at 120 KB/s

I download files from AOL, microsoft, happypuppy.com, lucasarts.com etc.

Whose speed patch do you have installed, as the one for small RWIN is not for large RWIN :)

This is VERY VERY Weird....

Post by tweak101 »

OK, after a while of messing with RWINs this is what I came up with very weird though.

At first I used RWIN 999999 that I saw in this forum, I entered it in the adjuster. Reboot. Amazingly I connected to ftp.adobe.com and download one of the Acrobat reader file 21 MB and be able to hit max speed at 370 KB/s.

Then I changed it back to what I usually use which is 513920 and it dropped down to 187 KB/s max. But when using IE 6.0 in Windows XP to download AOL and it STILL staying at 100 KB/s. I then changed RWIN to 999999 and I'm backup to 370 KB/s Max in ftp.adobe.com and download some different file, but still don't work still giving me 100 KB/s????

ahahhaa....driving me nuts too!!!!

Well his patch uses RWIN 64240 or 128400, we just use his adjuster, we don't change his patch, if you use his speed patch I suggest you use his RWIN :)

Dude, I noticed today for some reason conection speed dropped like mad in my area (toronto)from 3 - 10 pm. It may have something to do with @home bankrupcy. My speed is back up there now. Try going back to your old settings now.

Operator, I know someone is home but they won't answer the door, you do not use someone's else's patch with setting's made for small RWIN and try to put big RWIN in, period :)
