LOBO can you help ????????????speed is to darn slow dont know what else to do

Post by scotty2b »

Is this good settings for caaable internet if not how and where and what should I do to
make good improvement????

TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 8760
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 8760
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 350.4 kbps (43.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 140.16 kbps (17.52 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = OFF
Time to live left = 110 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Click on help thread below in signature and follow directions exactly, please leave your OS and system specs if you have not done so.Also if you have Cablenuts adjuster installed I need to know that. There are some Tips and how to do speed test on help thread. Thank you and good luck. :)

Test OCT 3 2001
TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65535
Note: Under Windows 9x, if you have RWIN set to any other value, and the Analyzer reports 65535 you might
need to install the MS Vtcp386 fix.
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2621.4 kbps (327.675 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1048.56 kbps (131.07 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 14 hops
There are less than 16 hops left before your packet is discarded, consider increasing your TTL value
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535

This is what your want right? for you cable. The speeds are good. Why not use this setting. Get yourself back there.

65535 is not good.. not multiple of MSS can slow down your speed. Download the Vtcp386 patch if you are on 9x to fix the problem. :)

Sorry my bad. I forgot that the RecieveWindowLimits is just calculated as a constant. It doesn't actually reflect the Speeds you are getting. TCP/IP is NOT a speed tester! I get it now. :p

Look, if you are here to cause troubles, then don't come. Get on with your life. Nobody is going to believe a 12 post guy who just registered a couple of days ago then a 1.7 K person who's here for at least 2 months and a 9.7 K person who's here for at least 7 months.
