If you need to get to stuff on your C-Drive....and you have room on your D partition...do a mirror install of 2K on your D partition so you can get to desktop and browse the C drive with its NTFS...you can manually mop up, see if it's getting full, delete the temp directory, temp internet files, and save stuff you need.

A disadvantage of running NTFS on your C partition....can't use a good old Win98 boot disk to snoop around and fiddle.

When/if you rebuild...give yourself a bigger C part...like at least 4 gigs. 2K is big...wants some room.

I'm not able to boot up, even from a CD. It boots normally, shows the win2k splash screen, and then the BSOD stop error pops up. I'm fortunate in that my E drive has all my MP3s, videos, etc. on it, the D drive is empty I think, except for maybe adobe acrobat reader, and the C drive only has win2k on it. The problem is that I can't boot up at all.

Not able to boot from CD?

Hmmmm....BIOS set to boot from CD-Rom first?

If it doesn't support eltoledo (boot from cd-rom), guess you could boot from a 98 boot disk (because it has cd-rom support) with the 2K cd inserted....then change your prompt to the cd....the i386 directory....and run the setup, I think it's called WINNT . Install a mirrored install from there, or just format C and start from scratch.

Not having a FAT C partition makes rescue work on NT tough. I've had to rescue a few servers where you install NT a second time, but change it's directory from the default C:\WINNT to something like C:\WINNTTWO and it installs there. You also get a choice on bootup because it adds that to the boot.ini. You can then at least get to desktop and browse your NTFS partitions that way to mop up things, although if your C drive is only 1.6 gigs....you may not have enough room for a second install of NT.

It boots from the floppy first, then hard drive, and then CD. I changed it so that it boots from the CD first now, and it seems to booting to the CD fine now. Hopefully I should be able to repair or reinstall windows from there now.
