I think I'm being capped..

Hello, all! I think @Home now cap my download speed and so as the upload of course. The reason I said that cuz now no matter what RWIN I tried from very small to large like 513920 but have no luck. My download speed is still going any where from 120 KB/s to 140 KB/s max. Back that with the above RWIN I can get like 550+ KB/s but not now any more...

dang...@HOME sucks... :o

Here's my specs...

Post by tweak101 »

1. PIII 1.0 GHz
2. 1.0 GB SDRAM
3. 32 S3 Video card
4. Win XP
5. IE 6.0
6. cablenut installed with RWIN 513920

Here's SP TCP/IP Analyzer result:
-------------------------------------------
TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 513920
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 20556.8 kbps (2569.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8222.72 kbps (1027.84 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 55 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Assuming you have Cablenut installed, apply the NIC buffer tweaks below in my sig. Also, @Home is going through a really rough time right now filing for bankruptcy and stuff, so it's not the best time to complain. :)

Well, actually, At&T is buying them out the last time I heard. Better go on the general cable forum and ask there, because I know that at least 3 @Home teches with GOOD knowledge is there helping out. :)
