Why is everyone's MTU showing @ 1500 while on PPPoE? I think there's a bug or something in the analyzer.

Are you sure your on PPPoE or PPPoA

PPPoE you have to log on with name and password.
PPPoE ( Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet ) is a method for building PPP sessions and encapsulating packets, as described in RFC2516. Although it is not a standard, PPPoE is already being used by a number of DSL providers. It requires either routers that have built-in PPPoE support, or PPPoE software to "dial up" and establish the session. You have to log on with name and password everytime you access net with PPPoE.

if i say the technical support team said that they have no idea...
actually they said it doesnt use anything, and asked what PPPoE is. Then they told me that it uses TCP/IP, and mentioned dialup aswell(that is my normal narrow-band modem dialup) for some reason :)

Do you have to log on with username and password to get on net, not the same as name and password to let Windows to let you in :) , MTU 1500 is not PPPoE :)

i stay connected as long as i dont timeout. I can still restart my computer and then use the internet without having to log on again through the browser..

I know of a couple ISPs that have you log in through your browser but normally not a PPPoE based application, traight DHCP (Since you can get to the browser sign-in window, before signing in). The DHCP is sorta like a portal where you get trapped unless you log in. So the non-PPPoE patch would be the correct one.

Bring up Cablenuts adjuster inside Cablenut on desktop the numbers below go in 3 places in W2k and XP, they are: DefaultReceiveWindow, TcpWindowSize, GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize, take out number that is in there and put in one of these, 1 at a time, try: 51100, 348720, 481800

You do not have to show me but check analyzer here at SG to make sure RWIN is in, you will see number right after (RWIN) on analyzer

At bottom click save to registry, and REBOOT each time you change value in adjuster or it will not work. Click on tools at top of IE, internet options, delete files and offline files (This is safe, temp files) and click on clear history after EVERY test . Quick speed test here
Speedtest may open another browser, so check taskbar and close other, no other programs should be running, No AIM, ICQ, Virus scanner, Firewall, nothing
Once you find fast number for you, you want to save it, on file at top of adjuster click on that, save custom settings, put RWIN size in as name and click on save, now if you ever want these settins back, click on file, open custom settings file, and click on RWIN number, then click on save to registry at bottom, and REBOOT, your done. How to do real dowwnload test on help thread below in signature. This is all I recommend, if anyone else jumps in with something else, good luck, but it did not come from me

Also add NIC Buffer setting's in adjuster:

InitialLargerBufferCount- 48
InitialMediumBufferCount- 96
InitalSmallBufferCount-150
LargerBufferSize-40960
MaxFastTransmit-2
MediumBufferSize- 1805
PriorityBoost-2
SmallBufferCount- 1024

Priority Boost for WIN XP is 10
