Athlon XP (Palomino) release date?

Post by smidley »

Does anyone know what the release date of these chips will be, and is there any price difference between current Athlons? I think I heard somewhere that the release date would be the 9th of this month... I could be wrong tho.

well we can probably still overclock after using a dremel or some sanding, can't blame AMD for doing something like this tho cuz overclocking does hurt their profits, even if its very minute.

Do you think the XP is worth buying for the home user? It is now only 30 dollars more. Can I use the save board as the thunderbird?

I just read an article somewhere of someone using tape, cut just right with hummm some kind of mask to connect the bridges. I suppose someone will figure a clean way to do it.

You can still up the fsb.

From what I'm reading, the 1800 XP isn't scheduled for release till around the 20th. Anyone else reading something similar?

Edit...

here's that link

Well if you're a newbie and you wanna OC, you should learn the basics first 'n stuff, and have enough balls to do it. YOu gotta realize that AMD is still nicer to OCers than Intel since there still IS a way to unlock the CPU, while its impossible on Intel CPUs.
