Counter-Strike Retail Probs plz help

ok I just went out and bought a nice new fresh copy of Half Life Counter-Strike.
After when i type the cd key and then the game loads up fine. Then after the loading for like a second or 2 a message pops up saying "Could not open MCI file for playback: 266:MMSYSTEM266 The device could not be loaded. Verify that the driver is installed correctly." When I was installing ver 1.3 it said a corrupted sound file. is there an issue about this where i can fix???

I have the SB LIVE X-Gamer
after i click ok on the message the CS menu comes up and stuff I try the training and it works. but I want to fix the message because it screws up the GUI and will not allow me to complete the install of cs 1.3 due to a corrupted file.
