Go to the www site of who makes your router and download newest (and install) firmware, that should change MTU :)

Please click in my signature where it says Test tweak here, then:
At top where it says edit click and select, Select all,
Then go back to same edit button at top, click and select copy.
Come back to Speedguide, same thread you were on, in post reply box, with cursor blinking at begining of box go to top, edit, click, select paste, click, this will put information in box. Please X out your IP address, Thank you. :)

If I were you I would just start over, uninstall what you have and follow directions on help page, do not load a ccs file if you are downloading our speed patches, Cablenuts software is downloaded and installed for adjuster :)

Hopefully, uninstall Cablenut first, then follow direction on help thread below, a ccs file is one of Cablenuts patches which you DO NOT want to load if you are using SG's :)

okay well you need to find out where your install files for your access manager or whatever you use are. If you upgraded t it normally will be found under C:windows/temp

Next find the .inf file that corresponds it (there may be multiple but it will be easier to figure out)

the file I had was named ntspppoe.inf (sympatico) since normally the defalt setting is 1454 search for it. It should fall under max frame size change both occurances to 1494 (pppoe) or 1500 (everyone else). you will need you windows CD rom. And I believe you have to reinstall the program (access manager or whatever) so the settings are in.

Restart

after you restart, go to network neighbourhood, right-click, select properties. select the adapter (not the protocol for your your connection to the internet) go to advanced, maxframe size and change it to the number desired. restart and use the tcp/ip analyzer to check the settings.

The first part has to be done as the maxframe size is not allowed to go higher than 1454 you if you go into the registry and set it lower than that (or use cablenuts) it will work but not if you go higher.

Let me know if you need anything else.
