Win2KPro password problem..please help
I have a machine with Win2KPro that was on a LAN here at my office. It wasn't needed on the LAN anymore so I wanted to hook it up to the router we have here so it would have internet access. I went in an changed the network properties accordingly and rebooted now it's asking me for a user ID and password. I've tried every one that we have on any machine here but none of them work. Is there anyway I can bypass this? Even to get it back to it's original state?
hi av8er,
if the password it wants is IPC$ ....usuallly all u have to do is set up a user account on the server or host machine (the one the router is probably conected 2) and then it should be working, other then that there really isn't enough information about your stuff to get deeper...sorry hope i've helped

If it was on a LAN....then perhaps it was set to log onto a Domain, in which case now that it's disconnected from the domain...you have to change it to log on locally.
You need to know the original local Administrator password so you can log on locally as admin, and change the user accounts.
