Awesome @home Settings

Post by Rhyno »

I just found probably the best @home settings around. I'm in Iowa and i've been hitting download speeds of around 900k-1.1mb/sec from servers in illinois and michigan. From west coast servers i'm at about 450k-600k/sec. My friend in california on @home is hitting 900k/sec from california servers.

Goto http://www.broadbandnuts.com/software.shtml and download cablenut, then goto http://rhyno4444.homestead.com/files/fast.zip and download my settings file for cablenut.

This is a zip file only for 9x users and it would be safer if he just posted copy of adjuster as you never know what you are getting in the download. :) :)

Well, I have to admit, that zip file definetly works. I haven't tested under the 2meg speed rate yet, and I am going on about6 tests now, during peak times. Who knows what I will be hitting during off times. Thanks man!!!!:2cool:

I had thought about it Lobo, but the file was so small, and I have great anti-virus download software. Is there a way I can post my cablenut settings?

That's exactly why I didn't download it. It looked a little too hyped and directed towards @Home!

I guess type as the other way would take to long to explain, plus you would have to get space on a server :)

That zip file, fills in every possible entry in the cablenut adjuster. So I guess that would be time consuming for me to type it all. As a precaution, I did scan for viruses. Nothing, it's fine. I would at least try it if anyone has Win98 or ME. Works like a charm :)

Well after you said it was cool I downloaded it and looked at it, I run XP so I could not use it, but it has alot of invalid entries, GlobalmaxTcpWindowSize=1, Default TOS=1460, when the range is 1-254, IGMPLevel=1500, should be 2, well maybe if you wanted to correct some things :)

Yea I guess im jsut the leetest haxor alive, i made a text document virus

Post by Rhyno »

Only problem i see is that in the zip file there is a .ccs settings file for cablenut, which in turn is just a plain text document. If you seen my post before i edited it i had tried to link directly to the .ccs but homestead wont let you upload .ccs files. just run cablenut(downloaded from there site) then goto file, open custom settings file, and select the settings file i provided, and all the settings will pop up in the fields, then just click save to registry.

oh and contrary to what lobo says, dont change ****. i didn't think it was right either, but it sure speeds @home up like no other.

I would not recommend this as alot of the settings are not valid settings :)
