TCP properties for IP = ()
Note: Read the FAQ if the above is not your IP address.
Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows 98; Win 9x 4.90)

TCP options string = 020405b401010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 63888
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 63888
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2555.52 kbps (319.44 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1022.208 kbps (127.776 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 35 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Is that good?

I don't know what you mean. All I know is I turn on my computer and I'm connected. I don't have to put password or anything like that.

75920 works for me, but DSL is going away next week. I am going back to the slower cable here Lobo. The DSL here is fast when it is working, but the service interruptions have become more and more frequent lately and that is unacceptable to me.

Post by jordanw77 »

I tried a bunch. I don't notice much. The only thing I noticed was my bandwith went down the lower I put it. But the downloads increased a LITTLE. I dont know what I need to tell you. All I know is that I have 320k SDSL. p4 1.4 ghz, 128mb rdram, and a 40 gig hard drive. This is really pissing me off. I'm only downloading at like 40k/sec. I know it can do better than that. Does anyone here know what I should do please help. I want to know so when i restore my pc and i know what to use so i dont try **** and **** up!!!! (like im doing now)

For Win 9x bring up Cablenuts adjuster inside icon on desktop in box that says Cablenut,click on adjuster, in box that says DefaultRvcWindow take out number that is in there and put in one of these, 1 at a time, try:32120, 256960, 481800,487640

You do not have to show me but check analyzer here at SG to make sure RWIN is in, you will see number right after (RWIN) on analyzer
At bottom click save to registry, and REBOOT each time you change value in adjuster or it will not work. On help page below in signature, 2nd page, at bottom are Tips, and How to do Speed test :)

These ones work the best for me: 64240, 487640, and 65535. I noticed about a 3-4 more KB/second. I'm using 487640 right now. I checked my bandwidth and it DECREASED. Before I was getting about 307-322. Now I'm getting about 280. I don't know what the deal is. My uncle has cable and he was only downloading at 300KB/second. Then he messed with the RWIN and now he starts at 1MB/second and slows down to about 700-800kB. I just want to get some sort of GOOD improvement. Is cable easier to tweak than DSL? If that's the case, F*ck DSL!

OK, lets break this down, their are 8 bits in a byte, you are downloadloading at 40Bytes sec, so 8x40=320, you said above 320k SDSL, wisper, yes cable :) :)

Okay, I guess that makes sense. What cable service do you have? My uncle has @home. It rocks and its 26$ cheaper than what I pay. Only one problem. @home isn't offered where I live. **I think** I should call them. Do you know any good services that are offered in many areas? I live in Timbucktu. lol!
