HOLY BEJESUS!!!!!

Same demo test as before now getting 650K!!!!!!
Here's the test...(note teeh 650 is where my download of that
50 meg files starts...)..can I get this faster!?

TCP options string = 020405b40103030101010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 128480
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 1 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 5139.2 kbps (642.4 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2055.68 kbps (256.96 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 35 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Yes you can get faster, thats what tweaking is about, the blank boxes in Cablenuts adjuster just mean default value is being used, hang around forum and pick up bits here and there, also on help page below in my signature, 2nd page are Tips and Tweaks for all OS's calm down and TWEAK IT :) :) :) :)

Actually, that's not the speed that you will get. That's the Speed that your Computer Will Allow .

Ya, I understand thats what can be "allowed"......kinda like back in the old HST days of USR modems....you'd never hit 16.8, but it was nice that it was available to go that fast.

Ultimately I just wanted to open up my pipe as much as my local conditions will allow. I'll go through the tweaks sections and see about some other settings.

I guess what I'm saying is that up until last night I actually had my own machine as the bottleneck....but I was still pretty happy....now i'm really looking forward to tweaking somemore and getting the thing really smoking. I'd love to hvae a download hit the 1 meg barrier.....and I can barely do that on my company 100Mbps lan.

Just remember 1 tweak at a time and speed test it to see if it helped, if not remove it then so you do not forget and it does not conflict with something else, and write down what you keep so you can do it again if need be :) :cool: :) :)

How big is your CPU :D :D :D
