The English teacher says "your" = possessive. eg. Your hat, your bad spelling, etc. You're = Pronoun + verb contraction, eg. You are set, (you're set)not "your set"! Get it?

Thanks Lobo. I completely understood what you said.

Here's an English lesson for you Bob Daniels:

Impudent.

Main Entry: im·pu·dent

Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Latin impudent-, impudens, from in- + pudent-, pudens, present participle of pudEre to feel shame
Date: 14th century
1 obsolete : lacking modesty
2 : marked by contemptuous boldness or disregard of others : INSOLENT
- im·pu·dent·ly adverb

Thanks Iaus10, Point taken. Apologies to any others who may have taken offense. Sometimes things meant as a joke are not so funny to everyone. I'll try to be more sensitive in future.

Just installed it, looks very cool. Seems to do an excellent job.

It's not spyware either, so that's a plus.

"In that time Lucent seems to have purchased Net.Medic, renamed it MyVitalAgent, made a bunch of improvements, and made it freeware!"

Lobo, i read bad comments on NetMedic I thinks one or two years ago. Something like that the monitoring wat no good, not "reliable" (that's directly from my frech-english dictionary...), and for isp tech support NetMedic monitoring is not serious or good. How can we be sure now that all is oK???

Actually from what I've read and actually experience net medic is the real deal while my vital agent is a water downed version.

BTW you can still get net medic and it has alot more useful features like detachable windows

Net Medic uses about 5 megs of memory on windows 2000 besides the fact that memory is dirt cheap people should be running 256 megs anyways.

Also didn't know it was shareware never recieved any nag notices.

It's still a better app than My vital agent which removed most of the features. Just read the comments from Cnet and there are alot that just went back to net medic.

How to Buy Net.Medic
It's never been easier to purchase Net.Medic from the comfort of your home or office. Simply visit one of the electronic stores listed below and buy Net.Medic right over the Web. All you need is a credit card and an active e-mail account.

If you prefer, you can also purchase Net.Medic directly from INSoft via the Web, by phone, or fax.

Maybe this will shed some light on this....Net.Medic is no longer available. Net.Medic was published by VitalSigns which was bought by INS which was bought by Lucent. Lucent/INS has decided to stop selling Net.Medic - and made it available as a Free Download. On February 12, 2001, Net.Medic was discontinued and replaced with MyVitalAgent - which is available at no charge....Net.Medic WAS a good program for it's day but times change and so do programs. I 'm just glad to see a program that works with DSL and Cable that has many of the same points as Net.Medic had.... :D

Actually net medic can still be downloaded from the vitalsigns website and it is still better than my vital agent.

The removable panels are just to cool....

This started out as a small program that was like Net Stat Live, if you want the whole hog thats up to you, but don't have it running when downloading, my vital agent by itself is cool, but the whole thing, well think about it :)

True you can still DL it and it is FREE...But there is no upgrade or support for it any more...I bought NM several years ago back when I had Dial-up and DSL was not even around and I do agree that NM had allot more to offer as far as features...I tried NM a few months ago with my DSL and the two didn't play together very well. Do you use NM with DSL or Cable ?

cyberstorm55, yes this is a tweaking forum. Some of the more intelligent people here are also interested in various ways to test their tweaks.

Don't be a smartass. Im about sick of the disrespect people are showing Lobo. If you dont like the thread find another one. Or go chat with HalfLifer or something...

Well, i've tried everything and the only modem that it recognizes is the 56k dial up that I don't use. It can't see the cable modem behind the router. If anyone has had any success in getting the program to recognize a modem set up this way, i'd like to hear about it.

Nobody is dis-respecting Lobo, just offering alternatives.

I just wish myvital agent had built upon what net medic already had instead of taken features out. I would prefer if I could remove a few of the panes and put then above the browser window and watch them as I surf like I can do with net medic.

I have net stat live and net medic but my vital agent can't be installed with net medic kinda sucks as I would like to use both at the same time.
