19" monitors...your suggestions?
I'm thinking about buying a Viewsonic PF790 monitor. It's a 19 inch .25 pitch in the center to .27 at the corners.
Displays a maximum resolution of 1,600 x 1,200; 1,280 x 1,024 at 90Hz flicker free refresh rate for easy viewing. 1,600 x 1,200 @ 77Hz 1,280 x 1,024 @ 90Hz 1,024 x 768 @ 118Hz 800 x 600 @
149Hz
This is a flatscreen,
I'm no where near an expert in this field so I'm looking for suggestions.
Not that money is a concern, but I'm still looking at cost vs. quality.
I can find this as low as $342 plus $44 shipping on pricewatch.
What do the experts here suggest?

Awesome monitor. My brother has this same monitor and what a beautiful screen it is. I think he payed about 600 at Best Buy a year or so ago. I would highly recomend this monitor. The Viewsonic p225 f is a 21 incher worth looking at.

Awesome monitors....the PF is pretty nice, I like the GS series, but overall I've had a great experience with Viewsonic monitors....for my clients it's the one I push.
I love the high refresh rates Viewsonics can obtain.
I have one at home, as well as an Optiquest (which Viewsonic makes), and a Sony Trini.

I really like this sony triniy 19". Crisp, bright and its got a very nice antiglare coating on it. Hard to clean sometimes. Chaffes my eyesballs when I get too close, but beside that, its been a great CRT. Sony makes some good monitors.

I gave Miss Manners a Dirty Sanchez, and she LIKED it.

That sounds good I guess for american $. I've got a Sony Trinitron Flat Screen. I payed around $800 for it. I highly recomend flat screen and larger monitors.
Instead of paying an arm and a leg for a sony triniton, check out the kds' with the triniton tube (flat screen) it is about 150$ less and is still crystal clear!
Everybody is taking the Afghan war lightly, but in the meantime the realisation that a full-blown war is in progress creates all the uncertainties (and inevitable surprises) that wars always produce.

Howdy sync.....your back for a little while?Originally posted by syncmaster
Samsung 900 IFT is my selection ,with ViewSonic second .
In two months that i will buy 19" monitor ,i will check the market again .
So far this 900 IFT looks to have the less problems from all the family of 19" monitors .
Humm.....I wondered if you were going to see this thread and vote for the " syncmaster". LOL
Actually I've looked into those also.

Hi downhill
Yap i am around the BBs , but i do not have the time to stay for long , the cost for internet acces in the place that i work is very high ..
About the monitors and about the text quality , the 900 IFT is the king .
But the best is to see them all in operation , the eyes some times do not follow monitor specs
but the colors, that they like most .

By all means, get a 19" flat screen. I think they're all pretty nice now and certainly prices are attractive. I've been running a pair of flatties (Iiyama Visionmaster Pro) side-by-side for a couple of years now and wouldn't have it any other way. I did try using one alongside a so-called "flat square" monitor and it made the older one look like a fishbowl. My eyes couldn't handle that. You don't need to get a Trinotron. The Mitsubish Diamondtron tube is just as nice.

Sony did release a new Trinitron tube that gets rid of those 2 faint horizontal lines (that are common in all Sony Trinitron tubes)
mega bucks though. I'll look for the model ASAP

I do !! hehehehe
The truth is that i read a lot hours in front of my monitor ..
The Sony SF-II 15" that i have ,does not help me any more for easy reading .
Its my age ? like 32 years old , i do not know .
Thats why i insist for monitors with clear text.
By the other hand the vibrand colors of trinitrons is nice , but i can not live only with colors
