cable modem question

cable modem question

Hi
I am like new to cable modems so bear with me.
What does it mean when the test light on the cable modem is continually flashing???
Cause I saw it happen this morning fo rhte first time since I got cable

I'm new too.. just got mine. :confused: :D

Mine has a power light..on.
Cable light....on when cable is plugged in and up.
PC light.....on when pc is on
Data light..flashing on and off when sending/receiving data, normally off.
Test light....off. Only on when power is first turned on to modem. :)

I'm sure you can check your modem manufacturer's site, and they should have a page explaining your modems light status.

Means your modem is re-syncing with your provider.

it is what halflifer said. but this really shouldnt happen, you might have a problem with your lines. call your provider and ask them.


by the way, why dont you tell me what happened to [ts]!!!

Yeah I have the RCA Cable modem and Recently the cable light has been Continously Flashing. My connection seems fine. I am hittin SG and 30ms no it isnt going slow.
