Best tweak/settings for GAMES plz

Post by Mr Dave »

Hi
I run Win2k pro with hacked up DX8 and Voodoo 5 drivers so games run like a 9X box.

I currently have the Win2k tweak from speedcorp.net installed, its great for downloading but terrible for online games and was wondering what is the best.. here is my current sheet.

I just posted the url so its smaller, but can anyone help me for online games, Counter-Strike that is. I have been playing a long time but I stopped playing around with games and tcp/ip since I started messing with PHP and linux.. thanks

Tweaking wont fix pings, its all ISP routing dependent.

Gordon Campbell suggests lowering MTU for lower ping at a cost of speed.

I ping servers at 10-30 in counter-strike, but when I join I get 200-400
and I can download in Internet Explorer and see the speed at over 1.5Mb

In the game Counter-Strike you scan for servers, when I find them it returns the ping at 10-30MS for the ones I join.
But when I join its over 200MS!!!
I dont know why
