A couple of questions since you didn't give too much info there.

First off....is your cd burner on the same cable as your harddrive?

Have you enabled DMA for it?

I take it then that the burner has never been up to snuff?

If not, try disabling the 120 and try the burner alone.

I have a TDK 8X4X32 and although it's not as fast as the newer burners, it smokes at ripping as far as I'm concerned.

It use to run great. The only thing i can think of would be upgraded firmware. Could that have affected it?

Well it shouldn't but stranger things have happened. Have you tried uninstalling and just using the firmware that was supplied with it?

the cd that came with your burner. Just don't go to TDK's website and upgrade it till you test it. If it worked that way before, it should work again.

Ok, maybe I mistook what you posted earlier as uninstalling and reinstalling.

Have you uninstalled your burner and reinstalled it? Not the Nero software but the burner itself?

If the answer is yes.......then nevermind.

If the answer is no..........post back and if I'm not around, I'm sure someone will help you with that.

Burner Proublems

Post by Storm90 »

You need to run the burner if possible by it self not slaved off anything. This will cause the proublems you are haveing. I bought a siig controller card for my harddrive and tranfered it to the SiigUltraATA DMA 100 PCI card wich has it own bios. Then remove the hardrive from my bios. Then I used the primarymaster for my cd burner. It worked out fine.I now get the speed I need.I slave my ls120 from my main cdrom not the burner and I have no proublems this way.Just I thought. This may solve your proublem. You can buy a promise card and do the same thing just make sure the card matches the speed of your harddrive.Weather its Ultra DMA 33,66,or 100. GoodLuck! ;)

Are your copies of BlindRead and CloneCD registered? If they are not then they are crippled demo versions that limit the max speed at which you can burn.

I know you mentioned the burner worked great before, but is this the first time you've used these software packages?
