Scanner problem :confused:

Ok i have a HP scanner 3200c and when i open it up it just locks up and that program goes not responding i have tryed to reinstall a bunch. I have it on LTP1 port for a while didnt work so i switched to communcation port still didnt work just locked up. Um i have also tryed to let it reconize it and it dont you know like delete it from device manager and restart should reconize it it dont. :confused: So anybody wanna take a shot at getting this thing fixed help me plz my girlfreinds wants me to scan her some pics and i really wanna make her happy and do that for her maybe shell do something for me haha well anyways hope yall can help. thanks in advance pup


Ps I am useing Win me and if you need any other info just tell me i will be looking back alot to see if anyone helped me thanks pup

Is it the program that locks up or the scanner itself?

Did you check which mode your LPT port is set to? You can find that setting in your BIOS. I use ECP&EPP, works fine with my scanner. Maybe you should mess with that setting a bit. Another thing to try is reinstalling the drivers for the scanner (favorably getting the latest drivers online first).

Try unhooking the scanner and than power down your computer turn off everything unplug all power cords plug the scanner in frist than the cup and everything esle with after that than still with every thing powered off turn on your scanner than your cpu after the cpu has started up go head and turn every thing esle back on. :)

My scanner quit when I upgraded to Win ME. Updated driver from site to ME driver. Didn't work. Only works with Win98, so I put it on anther PC that runs Win98 & it is fine now.
