@home nodes

When @home installed my service the installer hooked up my outside cable line to a round thing that had T.V on it. My ? is if that is a node,gateway, or something else

Round thing is pretty vague but I would guess that it is either the underground ped where the tap is or a lock box on your house where the splitter or ground block is.

Probably a filter to prevent feedback(Noise) from the TV's getting back into the line for the cable modem.

We need a little more information "login".With the little you gave us it appears to me that you saw him testing the signal quality with his meter, I quote "to a round thing that had T.V on it. "
