Ramdsk "temporary internet files"

Post by flip »

In Internet Explorer/Tools/options I changed my temporary internet files to my RamDrive and after a reboot I lost everything but my cookies. No pun intended :-)

I find that the web pages load quicker and I don't have to clean up the hard drive as often.

"Win98"

Config.sys

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE ON MIN=16384
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\RAMDRIVE.SYS 16384 /E

if you surf faster due to the temp files being available on ramdisc doesn't it defeat the purpose if you loose them everytime you reboot :confused: :confused:

Boy your Quick :cry:

Question.........

Do you reboot your PC every 10 min?
How often do you return to the same sight?
And like I said it keeps the main hard drive from becoming fragmented.

Try it before you knock it.

I tried the original tweak everyone was talking about but I use Winproxy and it didn't like it so I didn't want to waste any more time on it.
