Speed up internet

What do i have to do if i want to speed up my internet speed. i am using Bell Sympatico HSE and win ME.

Digital Subscriber line from your phone company and point to point protocol over ethernet. In other words your not connected by your cable company.

Before I get you all confused here, you should check with your ISP to see if they implement the PPPoE protocol or not. If I get you to install the wrong patch, things aren't going to work out properly! I'm not a DSL person myself but I think I can help you out, if not, someone who is DSL familiar, such as dannjr or a couple others will pick up on this thread. I just don't want to have you install the wrong patch!

First of all, make a back up copy of your current registry. Go to Start/Run/ Type in regedit, then go to the top of the open box and click on Registry, then export registry file, save it to a location easy for you to find, give it a name such as Reg031401, this way you'll have dated working registry to go back to if something should go wrong. Once you've backed up and stored a copy of your current registry, then go to the patches page and download the Sguide_tweak_98_me_PPPoE patch. Extract the patch and right click on it and choose install from the menu. Reboot for the changes to take effect. After you've done all this, go to the test and post a copy of your test. Be sure to block out your IP address so no one else can see it. Then we'll go from there!

Your doin fine with this my eyes hurt for all I know after that big one I just posted I'll give out a instructions for rebuilding a cylinder block
