TheCableGuy Reveals!!!!!!!
Well well you guys are so quick to assume that I was reffering to the *uckupc program definatley does not work I dont really know where you guys assumed that that is what I was talking about. I was watching for the past couple of day where my subject took people. I noticed that I have caused quite the controversy. The past couple of days I have noticed who my loyalists are and who choose to cut my throat. Anybody who I believed didnt deserve my program I sent them the ****UPC.EXE program becuase I know it doesnt work and it really screws up their precious registry tweaks for internet and a few more for anyone that tries it, I figure thats what people deserve for being such bastards.
BUT, the poeple that have been really kind and nice to me I appreciate it because I wanted to expose some people of this board for how crude they have been in the past because I have been here for a long time under a different user. Because I was sick and tired of how they treat some people.
Rest assured though I do have a program that removes the upstream limit, not really a porgram but a reg file that contains about 25 registry enteries that do not remove but improve uploading, just as increasing the RWIN would for downloading and There is absolutley nothing illegal about becuase I talked to a representative at @home and he said there is no proble with what I am doing. Hmm I wonder who the CableGuy I was speaking too told me this.
So those who I have distributed the ****UPC.EXE program to you deserv the consequences, DONT BE SO DAMN RUDE!!!!!!!!
And the reason I wouldnt just post the registy tweaks on the forum is becuase simply for the fact WOULD YOU GIVE A MURDERER A MILLION DOLLARS
Plus these registry tweaks I am saving for my future website that will NOT REFUSE KNOWLEGE TO THOSE WHO SEEK IT!
And those who emailed me asking me for it and I didnt give it to them is because I respect you and You will be the first to know of my tricks.

If it's not illegal then so be it, at the same time aren't you taking bandwidth from your neighbor? I am all about getting more speed, but some things just don't seem right.
As far as giving people bad s**t then, man that is wrong. I can understand being pissed for peeps being rude but, man to people like me my PC is important. My job revolves around it. I hope that in the end you are comforted to know that you have upset numerous people (that you feel deserved it) though at some point they may have helped you in some way.
At the same time, if you have developed a program to make speeds better then more power to ya. I have been trying to figure out how to get more outta @home I even called to see if I can pay for it.
In the end it just doesn't happen.
So if you are happy with it all then rock on! I just don't feel it is right to intentionally screw up peoples PC's.
That is my 2 cents worth-

Ok I maybe was misunderstood when I said that the program I gave to people screws up thier computer I never said that so forget that. If Anybody knew anything about that program they would know that its sets a lot of Regedit keys and values back to the original values of the system, It doesnt do anything bad, you just have to put in your old tweaks again, I am not that mean to give people that stuff to screw up thier computer I know what its like when your computer is very important to someones life style.
I Think its a little smack on the rists to to those who wanted to be so rude to me on here and then almost everyone that was really big bastards to me email me the same day all friendly and happy asking for the program.
Even brent know that program doesnt work if he has tried it beofre he should know that it changes a lot of registry setting back to original.

Sorry to have assumed that you were referring to the *UCKUPC program. I had seen it popping up more and more often on certain sites and perhaps w/out thinking just thought that was the "new" tweak.
My sincerest apologies if I caused some people to f-up their set-ups and attempt to use *UCKUPC due to my mistake. Personally, I was somewhat afraid to install some something that looked so close to "*UCK UP MY PC" so all I did was scan it for viruses, unzip it, and look at the contents w/out ever installing it myself. In fact, that was the reason I returned to the board... To do further research on whether or not to even bother with it and not to get into a discussion of decorum vs. the "right to know."
I guess this settles it then... begone oh foul beastie and to the Recycle Bin with ye!
BTW, TheCableGuy, while I still wholeheartedly believe that you should have been able to discuss your opinions w/out all the slings and arrows coming your way, I can't help but feel somewhat disappointed that you'd knowingly pass on a tweak that would harm (albeit temporarily) someone else. I'm sure that there was some kind of collateral damage caused by this. I kind of feel as though you had the high moral ground hte entire time but felt it necessary to step on others just out of sheer maliciousness rather than necessity. No need to raze the entire village since there was probably quite a silent majority that did support you but may not be so sure whether or not to continue doing so. Not particularly nice, but after seeing how some of the attacks progressed/continue I can understand lashing out at least on some level. Caveat download, I guess...
Anyway, if you have stumbled on a tweak/registry setup that does all that you claim (not doubting you, I just don't upload all that much other than the occasional email so I probably wouldn't bother w/it) then I hope to check it out on your board sometime soon.

Brent: Is it true that you were aware that *UCKUPC didn't work? How about its negative effect? Couldn't you have lifted your ban on UC discussion and simply stated in huge type "*UCKUPC does NOT work, may f-up your settings, etc" and quikly closed off the topic so as to prevent the escalation of hostilites?
Damn this policy of non-UC discussion! Can't you see that by ignoring the topic it only led to unwise experimentation and its resulting negative consequences?!?
Ignorance of the topic won't make it go away and as administrator why didn't you step in sooner? So many of us here are new, relatively inexperienced members and don't know any better. Your lack of action may be looked upon as tacit approval by some people, perhaps even TheCableGuy, himself.
Ignorance of a subject is simply that, ignorant...
BTW, if I missed a huge neon banner that you put up to ward us off from *UCKUPC, then not only myself but a number of people here missed it.

Sorry if i didn't inform, I guess I assumed people knew about it already, truth is we've see this program for many YEARS now it is very old and has been discussed hundreds of times on here.
Here's the short of it, it use to work on certain brand of Lancity modems on @Home a long time ago, @home caught on and figured out how to stop it so it no longer works. Simple as that.
As for whatever the Cable Guy is talking about here there is no way that editing your registry will Uncap your Upload Limit, it's impossible. The only possibility is to tweak the upload speed to get all the bandwith you have allocated to you on the upstream, but you will always be limited by your ISP as to how much bandwith you have on the upstream, and editing your registry will not effect the caps your ISP has placed on you.
That's just the facts folks...

I am sorry for my thinking that you meant it would "crsh" the systems of those who used it. I still feel that it is wrong to do even what you have done, no matter how minor of a mess up to the system it is. But like I said before that is just my 2 cents worth.
I also stated on the other post that a rather large concern is not just the fact of what UC can be to the users, but to any place that supports it as well and tells how to do it can be frowned upon and may suffer consequences. I think it is just best to leave it outta here.
That's all the 2 cent pieces I have for now-

I think Brent said it best, if you think the cable company is going to allow you to rise above your cap, think again, and if they cannot figure out a way to stop you, they unhook you, (Welcome, you have mail), as for all the greedy people who did this an messed up your system, I feel sorry for you, but beware of what you see and hear on the net, I'm sorry this came from this site, we try to help people not hurt them, so Mr. CableGuy, please post this mess somewhere else.

Hey CableGuy, just thought of a priceless name for your site where you can peddle your wares www.backto56Kfast.com

LObo I notice you are one of the funniest guys I have ever met, thats pretty funny, BUT if you didnt get the hint I am a coble moderator for my city, where do you think I got the name from. I have been there since cable modems first came out and if I wanted to I could uncap my connection but probally lose my job, uncapping is done from a database beyond anyones control except mine and 10 other people here.
But If you guys must know when I say uncapping I dont mean uncapping because Brent is right it is impossible from your PC. But for those that caught on to what I was saying You would know I am talking about registry tweaks "That improve the upload speed as would tweaks would do for RWIN" The changes are for improving the Upstream performance.
Most of you dont know this is that When a cable company puts a cap on your connection they give about a 50% additional upstream limit that very rarley accually get used. They dont ever speak of this but I am telling you now to just settle the not believers.
WHy you ask do they put up that extra 50% they have conatntly changed that variable to 40-30 but it has been at about 50% for a while now And that is an INTERNATIONAL VALUE That is set every 3 months or so. They do this becuase customers really have a big variant of peroformace in thier PCs, you have one guy that has a P1@ 100mhrtz with 32 edo ram to a guy that has a P4 @1.8Ghrtz with 256Rdram.
Because automatically the P4 will get more of the banwidth than a P1 they add this 50% leg that picks up for the lost bandwidth for the slower machines to pick up on somethig at least. This 50% reaminas at A CONSTANT so matter where the bandwidth is going to there will always be the 50% there for those big influctuations.
SO that is whre the tweaks I have come in they improve performance so it also picks up the leg that ANY cable provider sets. Is anyone following
So these tweaks are as legal as they come becuase just like we cant control what a cable company does n thier side they can control what Any user does on thier side and unfortunatley they do have any laws out thier that say a customer cant change thier own Registry settings. Becuase that obsurd.
When doing these tweaks you are not stealing bandwidth at all but really giving your computer what it deserves. And almost every computer out there can pick up the leg if its performance in up to speed, just like RWIN does.
So in that sense I hope I explained a little bit from where my blabbling comes from.

Taken from Cableguys very first post.....
Anything posted by him since is bull.
If he had a reg file he would have just posted it.
He says he's a regular member too under a diff name. If he is then he's not a very nice one. Any other member here that came across a reg tweak that would effectively increase the up speed would have posted it.
We're all wasting our time on this guy, and he's loving every minute of it.
Prey, you got it right but lets not lower ourselves to his level of insults
Now he says it's a reg file he has.Hey I have come across this program that teaches you to Uncap your UPLOAD speed for cable modems, this is good for especially anyone using @Home, And this thing accually works supposidly just for the Upload Cap Though.
If Anyone else is using this program there is something I dont understand in the intructions that I need clarifying. Maybe someone can take a look at it, Ill give it to anyone if they think they can figure it out.

TheCableGuy,
You said it best right here!
That would be like me doing your job at work.
I agree with Norm on this matter and I think the Boards Moderators have been nice to you so far.
But I think you have cross the line with the ablity to be Credible with users of this board.
You did it to yourself and have nobody to blame BUT YOURSELF!
So Be Smart for once and Stop this nonsense.
I've been reading all these replys and you reaffirm my belief in Cable Company Employees. And believe me that is not good.

What I see is you trying to inject yourself as a moderator of this Board.Originally posted by TheCableGuy:

With the skills you possess you could be a big help to the members here.
Why not give it a shot?
Bickering back and forth isn't the purpose of this(or any other forum)
Sure, like any forum there are those who don't deserve your help. But there are far more members that do. Out of the over 11,800 members here, only a handful have been in your face(so to speak)
The other members here would appreciate some help from someone who knows the inside workings of a cable company, along with your knowledge of networks.
Reserve your anger for those who may deserve it(by ignoring them), but give the rest of the members the benefit of your experience.

Cable Guy... You don’t know me. I’m just a fly on the wall. You appear to be upset because people don’t believe you and aren’t giving you the respect you feel appropriate to your level of knowledge. In return, some of the members of this board have indicated frustration with your boast of a reg tweak that will improve performance. Flames from both sides without a doubt.
Obviously you carry some anger at SG members from a year ago when you proposed a “like” solution. The members remember that person, the results of those discussions, and see you taking them down the same path. What it comes down to is a simple request as indicated by Norm: Show us what you’ve got. Either you’ve got something or you don’t. If you do, then you’re here to show us?????? If not... you’re here to get revenge for pain received a year ago?
Simple request. What do you have?

TheCableGuy doesn't know what he's saying from one minute to the next.
All he is doing is trying to bring down the credibility of this board and the users in it. I also find it very annoying that he's blaming his whole "revolution" on the Moderators of this board. It is not the Mod's of this board that have the problem, it is you CableGuy.
Also, have u noticed that almost everyone one of this posts, he changes what he said previously by saying that he has mislead us. In his first post here he said that he intentionally gave out *uckupc to users that he didn't see fit to getting "his real tweaks", full well knowing the ill effects that it has.
TheCableGuy, you don't deserve to be on the internet at all.
And for the last time, the reason that uncapping is not talked about here is because it has been talked to death in the past, and because IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DO FROM YOUR END. If people still want to try to uncap their connections, I say let them...A few less ignorant people on high-speed connections.
In ONE sentence, he contradicted himself by saying two different things.Originally posted by TheCableGuy:

Norm you are correct I think you are right I shouldnt take out all my frustrations on everyone. Juggernaught shut up you are putting words in my mouth and justifying my speech with direct quotes from myself that make me seem like thats all I have been talking about. I have expalined myself more than anyone can expalain myself so if anyone wants to read what I have wrote then read it ALL thats the point of a forum, you dont just go read one entry and then all of sudden be in the position to know the who story, obviously Juggernaut you are still refering to all the is old stuff that was prior to my revolutionary acts. Instead of fighting and fighting I have tried to explain that why I did what I did and I why I am doing what I am doing. Seriously I should put a cap on your mouth because your comments are unessisary and usless and they mean nothing to me except a simple thought across my mind on how idiodic this guy sounds. Just backoff, simple.
I will stick around and maybe help who I see fit most of you seniors are really good at the usual questions becuase you are experience with them. That is not meant to be mean at all just in case you think that. But I do see some people come on here with really interesting qeustion that I would love to answer. Plus I am working on my site.
Sorry I just want to stop the childish bickering. I thought it would be good to come clean and settle than keep fighting.

I must have missed this post where you exlained the reg tweak.
I'd like to have a look at this reg file for myself, could you post it for all the members here?
The majority of the members have notbothered you at all (a vast majority), so be a good sport and help them get better speeds.
You'll get a lot more respect by posting this reg file than talking about it when no one can see it or try it....
I'm happy to hear you intend to help the members here too. Looking forward to reading your posts

Why is it that when you are flamed, or insulted, you fly in here and post right away. But when a simple question is asked of you, like showing us this reg file, you avoid this thread like the plague?
If you really did have something worth sharing, you would have shared it already.
Now you're just proving what I've believed from your very first post.
Here to cause trouble, and nothing more
And yes, it saddens me to think a person would go to such length just to get revenge on "a few" from something that happened "a year ago"
There is only ONE way to redeem yourself now, and that is to post this reg file, once and for all.
Anything less is an admission of it's non existance, or your lack of faith in your own research.

My thoughts exactly Prey.
I bet he comes in now, but only to remark on your post, not to help anyone with their problems, or speeds.
What a misleading Subject this thread is called "Cableguy reveals".
I don't see any revealing here.
Or do I? Depends on how you read the thread I guess.

You're right Norm, it's just that I'm tired of idiots comin in here and postin BS and havin his childish fun at the expense of the reputation of this board. We already went through this kinda nonsense with Omnipressive and it gets pretty old and frustrating. But you're right, I am better than that and should not stoop down to that lamers level, so I'll just leave it at that

Norm norm norm, I said all that to bring foward the true kind people of this world I devised a big plan to do 2 things,
1) Expose the crap that this board has by this I mean the people I notice that jump down peoples throts for being either inknowlegable, or who bring up uncapping
2) Its a program alright but a really an exe that extract a reg file and a readme. The readme file has instructions for the thing for those less experience people and some instructions on disabling DHCP. I 2wanted o give people a little hope you might say.
The reaon know one has it is that I MADE IT being a cable moderator I have access to many things discoverd about broadband, those in which are illegal and those of which are legal, for optimization I mean. It took much reasearch on my part to find this and now having completed such a thing I didnt want to just give it up becuase first Iw anted to expose the rudness that this forum has, A long time ago I was just an average guy and woops I brought up uncapping and guess who got knocked down forever. That was around the time I started to realize that improvements are legally possible and I stared to edit registry settings. This was a year ago.
The truth is people There is alot of people on this site that really dont respect knowlege the way it is suppose to be respected. That last year I really wanted to kindfully come forth and give my knowlege to the world and I got shot down, but I still did it. And when I brought up uncapping the second time around it was a very assuring deja vu that assured me that the last years work was not for nothing. I saw the pople that I did it for and the people that should get exposed for thier crap. I wanted everyone to look at eachother and realize they gotta lighten up.
To Me it was a perfect plan.

Exactly, it was a plan you devised to ensure yourself a problem in advance with the members here. You know the rule here, and you broke it purposely, just to cause trouble. To Me it was a perfect plan
This board has a rule about discussing uncapping(not about reg files) and you broke this rule on purpose to invite a verbal lashing. I'm sure that if one member here gets this "alledged" reg file from you, we'll all get it sooner or later to ridicule it, or use it(whatever is best).
Quit planning these problems in advance, and just be real. Post the file if you really think it's so great and let some of the people here check it out.
It seems to me you just love to cause trouble, that's all.

Well obviously if one gets it you all get it, my plan was to make you guys react just the same was you did a year ago, asked the same question. I broke the rule to prove my point although I can say that a year ago I didnt know of that rule so I was leginamte then.
Oh hey I notice some guy has posted something about uncapping on the front page dont kill him now!!!!!!
