Vcache in Windows ME

Post by gemini73 »

Okay, before anyone laughs, yes I am using Windows ME. Normally I would agree with most that its a fairly weak OS, but it seems to be made for my system. I have never run so fast and smooth using Win 95 or 98/98SE.

Here's my question...

Does the VCache tweak mentioned in this site and recommended to me by one of my colleagues apply to Windows ME? Can it be changed and where (sysedit does not seem to work from Start/RUN).

This would be the only tweak left for me to make unless anyone can recommend changes that are weird (but that work) in Windows ME specifically.

Thanks.

I don't know if tweak applies or not but I can tell you were it's at, start, programs, accessories, system tools, system information.
Under tools in systen information click on System configuration Utility, a box will come up and then click on System ini, go down list and you will see it :)

Set minimum and maximum at 25% of your RAM.

you can do what lobo said , or you can just type msconfig in the run bar of your startup menu, system.ini is easy to edit, just go to your start menu then to run, then type in edit c:\windows\system.ini , their you go
