Generally use 8 but stay away from odd numbers

MSS is generally calculated by wondohs its reletivly easy normaly -40 of your MTU
so if your MTU is 1500 then normally it will be MSS 1460..
and wat should i put the TTL (time to live) as?
generally set by the speedguide patch at 64 and can generally be between 30 and 255
Doing a few pings to a few sites can give you the TTL generally most hops around the US dont go over 24.

How long have you had cable nad look back how slow your dialup is.. Ok with that said start reading I know that you want to have it over night.. but it aint gonna happen..
I suggest reading the main pages through on speedguide..
Then read a couple of threads doing word searchs.. This will be the only way your gonna learn it... I didnt get it over night
Like the link below says Speedguide has a great search engine theres real good threads going back a few months if not more..
