Venezuela Silver ?

Post by Philip »

Interesting video on how Venezuelan silver and other resources were extracted, and the geopolitical implications of strategic resources control.

Edit: link removed, don't want to hype/link/promote AI content further.

I would have to take a deeper dive to ensure any of that's true. I only watched the first 15 minutes but got tired of all the AI generated pics and fake guy doing the talking.

Hmm, looking at it again you are right, this is likely some AI-generated bs. The source is shady, a bunch of recent videos.

I just stumbled on it, even though it sounds dark and the doomsday conclusions may be exaggerated, some of the timeline coinciding with silver prices looked plausible.

I know large part of the reason why silver went up is the new Chinese restrictions on exports...

Still, Venezuela plays a role as well, they had some reserves, it may not be just the political crisis.

Silver in general...$110?

Holy sh*t!

Been following it a long time.

Last time I bought it was in the high teens.

I remember back in the early 70's there was all this excitement that it was going above $2.50. I don't remember the specifics but there were these couple of very rich people who were being accused of manipulating the price and it was a big deal all over the news.

Both gold and silver prices seem like a short-term hype to me.
Still, the US economic climate feeds the flames.

What I feel bad about is that there is a certain portion of our population that have fallen prey to all this recent hype regarding the price of Silver and Gold and bought at it's height. For the last several months I've been hearing commercials on the radio from all the local gold dealers talking about how great an investment that gold is and that you should make sure you take advantage of it (FOMO). I do feel sorry for these people who are either going to lose or virtually make nothing in the market.
