Upgraded the SG server...

Post by Philip »

Welcome to the new SG server (Dual AMD Epycs, 256GB RAM, 3ea. Samsung 990 Pro NVME SSDs in RAID1, etc.) !!!
Upgraded OS to latest Fedora Core Linux, PHP, SQL, etc. It was a major change, especially for the main site and the forums, everything had to be updated to work with PHP 8.

This upgrade has been long overdue because of the different PHP versions (and my procrastination, er, lack of time ;) ), updated the forums software in the process as well. Everything should feel much snappier now.

Just let me know if you notice any issues ;)

Good to hear, not scientific but it seems faster on my end too.

Still updating some PHP functions on the back end, but almost done. Updated the GeoIP library for IPs on the main site today.
