How to get Linksys & Dialpad to work togther?

Post by Mad.Maxx.03 »

Wondering if anyone has or knows how to get dialpad to work with a linksys cable/dsl router. Dialpad allows free long distance phone calls over the internet. The problem seems to be that the packets from dialpad aren't getting through correctly. I can't hear the person who is talk, but they can hear me. I have tried using the forwarding feature of the router but that doesn't seem to work.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You need to forward ports (in the advanced screen of the router setup) 51210, 51200 and 51201 to the internal ip of the computer you are doing this on. You could also put the ip of that computer into the DMZ, but you open yourself to hacking that way. Anway, I did this and it worked, but not well. It was probably a Dialpad problem, but I can't say for sure. The problem was that when the party I was calling picked up the phone, I could not hear them for at least five seconds. Hard to start a conversation that way.
