VPN and Linksys

Post by CybeRick01 »

I have a Linksys BEFSR41 Etherfast Cable/DSL Router, am hooked up to a Road Runner cable modem, and we have VPN setup at work. I would like to make the connection but I can't make the connection with the router in place. If I take the router out of the mix, I can get to all my servers at work. How do I make the connection with the router in place? Note: I authenticate OK with the router, but I can't ping any of my servers and therefore can't connect to them.

just for your info, i too have roadrunner. i log into my work using compatible systems corporation's intraport client 3.68 software. i did not have to do anything special to the linksys router. the vpn server assigns my machine an ip address which i then use to set my display.

Possibly could be the NATing going on in your router. If you are behind a firewall or a proxy some VPN software needs a static IP translation in order to work.
