Linksys 8 port workgroup hub?

Hi, i've seen a lot of people complaining about linksys cable/dsl routers on the cable/dsl forum, I just got a 8port 100mbit hub from linksys model FEHUB08W, it doesn't have a fan or anything. Is this hub good?
I've been able to get up to 4500KB/sec transfering files within the lan in win98SE after some tweaking.

Should I get a DLink 8port? They are about the same price, but I've heard that DLink hubz have fans, which are noisy 'n the question is why would they need it since my hub seems to run at room temp even when itz transfering at 4500K/sec.

Also, does the RWin value affect LAN transfer rates? Got any Lan tweaks for me? I've gotta DLink 530TX and a Davicom NIC, both uses a Davicom chip.
