To me, yes. One or more slices of bread, or split roll, with filling in between. To me a hot dog roll qualifies as a split roll.
Guessing there are some sandwich purists that demand a sandwich is between two slices of bread? So...pita pocket sandwiches don't work? Or grinders? Or Gyros?

Are you using the connected bread on on side for the argument? Subs, grinders, Hero's are all wedged in to a connected bread. I have no problem as classifying them as sandwiches.
My exact argument. Sandwich has to be free. Meat or veggies for those that choose that path and I have. I love a grilled veggie sub, a dog between bread is a sandwich.
Well, technically speaking, a hot dog is the dog itself, the mystery meat thing. A hot dog can, and usually is, served on a hot dog bun. It's also served on a stick and still called a hot dog. A hot dog is a sausage. If the sausage is served on any type of bread or roll I say it's is a sandwich. Before they were called hot dogs they were called sausage sandwiches.

and command you to believe it or else.
