5Ghz channel band for Telstra WiFi Gateway Max modem

Can anyone tell me if there is a specific channel that is optimal to connect to Telstra for the wireless 5Ghz band.
I was advised by Telstra that Channel 11 is optimal for the 2.4Ghz band, but I cannot get any information out of them in regard to the 5Ghxz band other than being told it is is by default selection.

The key is to do a site survey, to find what neighboring channels there are, and select a non-overlapping channel that is least used.
