Smart bro internet optimization

Post by norvelas »

so as the title says, i'm using smart bro internet and i'm in the Philippines. so i've tried many a things to increase my internet speed from using namebench to get proper DNS servers, TCP optimizer, finally making it to CTCP and such.

my problem is, i got a lot better when it comes to browsing, but gaming wise? really unreliable. i have random lag spikes that last up to 1 min playing online games with disconnections but when i load a page on a browser, it's fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, here's my results (Using Chrome to post, IE to get results):

try this !

lower your MTU by 2 bytes until your RWIN is a multiple of MSS => TCP Window: 262144 (NOT multiple of MSS)

Example: netsh int ipv4 set subinterface "Local Area Connection" mtu=1432 store=persistent

then add these lines too (Run cmd.exe => right click and Run As Administrator )

netsh int ipv4 set dynamicportrange tcp start=1025 num=48127
netsh int ipv4 set dynamicportrange udp start=49152 num=16383
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
netsh interface tcp set global initialRto=1000
netsh interface ip add dns name="Local Area Connection" addr=208.67.220.220 index=1
netsh interface ip add dns name="Local Area Connection" addr=208.67.222.222 index=2

oh i'm changing to OpenDNS? because i was using namebench to find my optimal DNS servers, is namebench not reliable or is OpenDNS just that good?

also i did everything except lowering my MTU, obviously

EDIT: so i'm testing the settings out playing RIFT PvP, not so great, i'll try LoL

TCP Window: 262144 (NOT multiple of MSS) is YOUR DEFAULT RWIN
lower from 2 to 2 bytes your MTU until you see ; TCP Window: ***** (Multiple of MSS)
