Reliable place to buy a used (or maybe new) iPhone 5 or 5S

Post by Faust »

The reason I say "reliable" is more towards used ones. If I were to buy it from someone I knew took care of it I'd buy from a private seller. I am looking to buy my folks a FLIR One attachment that requires either a 5 or 5S. The phone may or may not be used as a phone (up to my mother who is on ATT). I think my budget for the phone would be ~$250 - $300.

Any advice? I'm trying to steer clear of eBay or ones listed on Amazon as used.

If my iPhone 6 ever comes in you can have my iPhone 5 for $150. I'd just give it to you but I'm saving money for a new iPad. It's been in an Otter Box pretty much since it was purchased.

Heya, guys thank you for the replies.

Russel, PM sent.

cybo, if it weren't for the contract it'd be a steal but my mother's still retaining her grandfathered-in unlimited data from like 8 years ago and I'm positive ATT would nuke that with a new contract. I mean, if she likes the iPhone and wants to drop her SIM into it (do ATT iPhone 5s have SIMS?) that's cool. I was essentially just wanting them to have a basic FLIR device. If it piggybacks on top an unused smartphone that's OK with me.

Got your PM, I'll let you know as soon as mine comes in. It does have a sim card slot and yes changing plans will eliminate the unlimited plan.
