Suddenlink speed issues - Low speed high pings

Post by chrisw83 »

Hey,
Ordered 15mbps/1mbps but our speeds have fluctuated from 1mbps-10mbps. Pings jumping all over the place. Here are my analyzer results;
The tech said were fine on suddenlinks network and its nothing they can do if we get 1mbps or less after we leave their network....
I don't understand cause my ADSL from ATT gets 5mbps from every speed test site, but suddenlink doesn't. Any help would be appreciated.

I was wondering what was wrong with my connection recently. I also noticed my speeds dipping down to 1-10Mbps (usually around 3Mbps) when I'm paying for 30Mbps. I have no clue what's causing this, but I'm glad to know it's not an issue on my end.

At my house you cannot do more than 1 thing at at time. So if someone is gaming then you cannot get on the computer or vice versa but this hasn't always been this way. This has been recently that this has started which was in March. Tech came out and they change some setting on my acct, put in new modemn and still not working. Ping all over the place. I am paying for internet and now all of a sudden its the worst internet we have ever had. Something has had to have changed on "their" end. We have been with them for years and used multiple devices before. Going to start looking for other providers soon.

Suzanne, try to contact Shannon above, she may be able to help. It certainly seems there is a problem with your line, or congestion in your area.

You may want to try tracert to determine where latency increases and packet loss starts to play a role.
