What brand? By the looks of the specs, I would say it is a great deal (might want to add accidental damage if you have the option also).

I second that. Great choice. Get the accidental damage plan if it is available though.

That looks like a pretty sweet deal. About the only thing I would fault is the 5400rpm Hdd. We upgraded my wife's laptop hdd from a 5400 to a 7200 and the performance increase was more than noticeable.

Sweet deal. I just don't dig the glossy screens.

might be something to consider my buddy came over with his laptop which he dropped a speaker onto form 7 ft and wouldn't ya know it landed right where the hard drive was. it now sounds like a baby rattle. mobo must be cracked somewhere bcz it wont boot either

looks decent Lefty

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous

sometimes you have to think outside the box to get inside the box ;).

Like I said earlier, if this deal had touchscreen I would have been down on it. I also would of liked to have seen a 7200 hdd.

Looks nice to me, I just grabbed an X1 Carbon a few month's ago and my job just started selling lenovos to our clients. I'm very happy with mine and clients don't have issues with theirs (I say don't have issues because they never seem happy lol )

The hybrid drives help, quite a bit peppier than just a 5400 spindle.
Love backlit KB's...can't live without them now.
Love Lenovo as a brand...typing from one now.

It's a pretty impressive sound system for a laptop.
For a 14" it's heavy..just to note. But if power/speed is what you want...it will do well.
If you want a light laptop with long battery life...(portability)this isn't your model

I really want a new laptop. My Asus is almost five years old. I reinstalled windows recently but it's still acting kind of funky. I like Asus tho, this thing lasted me a long time (G71GX).

Yeah been a long time bro....long time. We'll be up in Maine this summer...Old Orchard Beach. Looking forward to it.
Otherwise....myself and her...wicked busy work wise. Esp this spring. I'm overswamped with all the last minute upgrades of businesses with WinXP and MSExchange03 going outdated next month. And she's kickin' butt with real estate and the market getting busy.

I'll jump in... I realize they're about the only option when you're on the road but I prefer a real mouse (I know a laptop will take one) and a keyboard but then you're just lugging around a bunch of crap everywhere you go. I don't find them efficient to work with. I really hate the same keyboard setup too.
