DSL slowing to half speed or less between 6-ish pm to Midnight

Post by grak »

I'm stuck with 6Mb DSL until fiber rolls around and lately during peak hours my D/L speed drops to 2.5 Mb. My house wiring is proven OK otherwise I wouldn't be getting the advertised speeds between Midnight and 6pm, this also means filters are OK. Techs have been around twice past week, the last visit was to change a port on an SSLAM card. This made no difference. I think the technology of the late 1990's thought that there wouldn't be any congestion due to dedicated DSL service but I think new technology has overcome the old design, people are going uTorrent and Netflix crazy..... and I'm stuck with garbage speeds, I might as well connect a clothes hanger to an Etch-a-Sketch pad and create my own internet.....

What do you guys think? I've checked forums and find this complaint very common, in 2008/9 and here I am in 2014 with an issue that was rampant 6 years ago, LOL and W T F     :rockin:
