need help picking the right wireless router

okay, so I want to get a wireless router, so i can use it on my ps3 or kindle, while my dad is in the living room using the wireless to get netflix on the tv and while my moms on the computer in the kitchen sometimes, a guy at best buy recommended a dual band router i am thinking about getting this one

now will i be able to use that for all my needs? what elese would I need if i want to get my pc wireless?

what's the budget? Do you have a brand prefer?

I personally like the DIR-868L, handles a lot of streaming and a great router for gaming too.

You could upgrade some of your LAN wired devices to use the AC wireless too using AC DAPs...or you could use the DIR-868L in bridge mode as well. My buddy bought 2 of these routers, uses one as the main host router and the 2nd as his media and gaming bridge. He loves it.

Asus RT-N66U (or RT-N66W, same thing in different color). Apple Airport Extreme is also good, but if you don't have an Apple-rich environment you may not see much improvement.

Solid router. One of the only times I thought stock firmware was NOT the suck compared to DD-WRT or Tomato. Attached USB devices (storage, printers) don't need some bullsh** service/app running on network clients to access. USB attached storage can be mapped like any sane person would expect. A real firewall (as compared to just relying on NAT and SPI).

You didn't mention budget (yes, they are pricey but less than their 802.11ac counterparts), but that factor aside I have no problem endorsing this. I have 2 running on the shop floor as APs and one in my home (from which my opinion started).

This is the one I use and it rocks. My wife uses her computer, kids are watching Netflix, I'm playing BF4 with no problems.
