Giving BF4 a shot...

Post by Faust »

Beautiful graphics I while I'm flailing about. Still learning the maps.

Still not sure if I possess the marbles needed to feel like I'm not a complete waste. I miss the simplicity/direct purpose of CS and BF'42/DC.

I would vehemently say "aye!" towards a motion to get EA to put BF'42 and ideally DC up on Steam (meaning I would purchase another CD key just to play it even though I have 3 previously purchased keys).

Actually I got it about a month ago but on sale for ~$35 (Amazon digital download). Played through the single player campaign a few times to get set up on controls. Past couple days I started multiplayer, which is where most of the problems (game crashes) occur and I haven't had a crash yet. I haven't had a crash yet but I also haven't played for long periods (yet).

As far as price, I would think $30 is decent but I haven't looked around much after buying it.

I would make sure but it looks like the BF4 Premium Service does not contain the core game, but is an add-on (maps/weapons/vehicle unlocks). There is a huge problem with how EA names the game (BF4 Premium/Premium Service/etc) made worse that they make nothing obvious in the description.

Even here: https://help.ea.com/article/what-is-bat ... -4-premium

They could at least state, under the "What is included with Battlefield 4 Premium?" section, that it does not include the core game.

Jake (our son) is big into it.....have watched him play it. Agree..amazing graphics!
Dunno if I'll get into it...I'd probably need to upgrade my gaming rig a bit (still on a Core 2 Duo). Not much into the newer versions of BF due to, like Scott said...the simplicity of earlier versions.
