2 space parkers
2 space parkers
You know those folks who take up 2 spaces when they park?
I figure most are those who are sloppy drivers. Don't use turn signals, pull out in front of oncoming traffic, etc...
IE, bad drivers.
Normally they park over the line in a parking space because they don't care or, more commonly IMO, are crappy drivers who can't make it right the first time.
I used to spit on their windshields on a regular basis.
As DePlano told me a decade ago, we should print up bumper stickers that say: "If you can't park it, don't drive it" and slap them on cars and trucks like that.
Then you've got the truly nice cars that will purposely take up 2 spaces, centered right on the line.
Starting to give them a bit more credence. If I had a nice car with a nice paint job I wouldn't want some jackass opening a door into my car either. Still pisses me off but am getting more adjusted.
Just don't do it in the premium spots right in front of a business.

The spitting eased off years ago, hence the past tense.YARDofSTUF wrote:Most are probably jsut too lazy to care, others too stuck up thinking their car is important enough to warrant 2 spaces.
Going as far as spitting on a car or that you wish to put stickers on other peoples property, you need to step back and chill.
Personal rationale was that such an utter disgust of common sense warranted my letting them know what I thought of them.
Immature, yes. Gratifying, yes.
The stickers never were printed but I still think it's a great idea.
If you can't physically park the vehicle you're driving you shouldn't be on the road with it in the first place.
Agreed, but in that situation I have lot more tolerance.BaLa wrote:I can think of many other this can apply to.
On the top of the list..People Driving RVs.
Or people in Cars pulling trailers.
For someone driving a normal sized vehicle...if you can't park it you are endangering those around you when you try to drive it.
I think it's all about maintaining order. Sure, an RV or otherwise has it's own set of circumstances to deal with. But it's not all just with people who park wrong or poorly, it's the idea of maintaining order. If you want to take up 2 spaces then just park further out, don't do it where other people are going to want to park. I has to do with respecting the others on the road, using turn signals, stopping at stop sign, speeding.

When my previous truck hit about 200k miles, it had enough rust & dents to allow me to do this: If some ******* parked on or over the line in a parking lot I'd pull close enough that they would not be able to get into the car using the driver door.

Last week I saw a handicapped person park in one of our spaces!Far-N-Wide wrote:The 2 spot folks don't piss me off as much as the non-handy capped folks who park in the handy cap spot with a card hanging on the mirror that belongs to real handy capped person.

That's called VIP parking in the Detroit area...I guess if the car is worth 10x more than your home you should be privileged!Far-N-Wide wrote:The 2 spot folks don't piss me off as much as the non-handy capped folks who park in the handy cap spot with a card hanging on the mirror that belongs to real handy capped person.
