PC restart problem

Post by CableDude »

I have a PC that when you restart it, it shuts down and starts back up

Windows 7 (32-bit) 2 GB of memory. Was at 3 GB, but had to take a stick out as it was causing the PC to constantly restart.

Dell Optiplex 755.

Update the BIOS.....old PC that wasn't designed for Windows 7, so original BIOS may need an update.
Reset the BIOS to defaults
Check the remaining memory for compatibility

Did you upgrade them from Vista? Or fresh install of Win7 upgrade from XP?
I'd get the BIOS updated, drivers updated....if put Win7 on after the fact.

Clean install my good man. I have had all running just fine for over a year now. Just this one went wacko recently.

I thought when you restart a PC it's supposed to shut down and then start back up?
