Laptop with backlit keyboard

Post by gertvanjoe »

Good day fellow forum peeps
After a looonnnggg absence I'm back

Looking for a laptop with backlit keyboard
must have SD slot
must have numeric keypad
must have wifi
Must not Break my bank balance ( no Alien or Mac )

Please help as I have searched low and high and most retailer does not include it in their specs sheets ( I searched for known backlit and it had no description )
Going to our local PC superstore or whatever also yielded no results , from "you don't get ones with backlights " to " we don't stock those , too expensive "

Brands not an issue as long as it's not Tomato or something
So softly , so perfect , seemingly sleepingly
But for you , sleep , forever will do
Wish only to fight the urge
Beaten senselessly for your basic need
Sunken eyes around me ,
sunken spirits is what I see
Children , old beyond their day

What size and storage capacity do you need?
Most of the Dell Latitude models (their business class models) I work with have backlit KB's as an option (Usually a $49.00 option). Latitudes are pricier..but worth it.
Some Vostro models also have that option. Vostro's are their entry level biz grade laptops.
I imagine some of their Inspiron and XPS models do too...but I don't work with those home grade models.

I have a Dell Latitude E6420 and it surprisingly has a keyboard that I don't hate. It has the back light and is very smooth. The only feature it doesn't have that you specified is the num pad, though I would imagine if you got a 17" model that would be possible to have as well.

ok decided , Dell latitude it will be . Had a go on a vew of them with the backlights in , love the keyboard . And it brings back memories . Some bad ones bad that was only because the IBM thinkpad I had did not have a screen . Yup I needed a pc but was <> $$$ so I got a broken Thinkpad ( screen dead ) and just used a normal screen haha
Well ok the only connection is the little nub sticking out the kb to also be used as a mouse , must say makes for some interesting pointing

So a Dell it will be then , only question is when

I work with these on almost a daily basis (VERY solid laptop). Just add the Complete Care to protect yourself.
