Any gardens this year?
Some great pictures of your gardens last year.
Weather here was crazy and it's getting late. I have some 3 year-old chards that are still going strong, and about 45 russian red curly kale (all volunteers).
Will probably get a couple 1 gallon tomatoes and call it. Last year my entire tomato crop got blight and I lost every single tomato.
Should do more brussels sprouts some time, they're awesome that fresh.

That's awesome.Dan wrote:this year we have,
carrots
radishes
sweet basil
lemon basil
oregano
rosemary
jalapenos
chives
grape tomatoes
yukon gold & purple potatoes
broccoli
artichokes
green onions
spinach
spearmint
chocolate mint
I still have some radish and carrot seeds from last year, maybe I'll scratch them in tomorrow.
Careful with the mint, that stuff will take over an untended garden in no time.
Potatoes are lots of fun.
Broccoli from the garden is as good as it gets, you can't buy anything better no matter how fresh or how organic.
What kinds of tomatoes?ace wrote:This year we have tomatoes(4 varieties), jalapenos, cayenne, habanero ,cucumbers, cilantro, beans, peas, and potatoes. Also have some raspberry and blackberry bushes.
I have great soil and excellent growing conditions but they get the blight super easy around here. I've had years with bumper crops and years where dozens of pounds go bad at once.
I have better luck with the cherry and grape tomatoes, as they ripen so quickly.
I guess I could add blackberries to my crop this year, not like I plant them but they grow on pretty much all the fences lines. 2 acres with lots of fence, I have no shortage of them
Pole beans do great here as well, bush beans not so good.

Any way here is the real list as I did say I would update if needed.

Potatos= Rosefin apple, Purple Peruvian, Peanut, Kipfel. (all potatos are fingerling)
5 Cucumber plants
Green Beans

Yellow Bell Peppers
Green Peppers= California Wonder, Jupiter
Cayenes

So That is the final list this year. Will get some pictures up in the next couple days and will try to update it as it grows, if anyone is interested in seeing it over the next couple months.
