netgear rt314 cable

anyone knows if this router need a x-over cable to connect to adsl modem? i use straight cable but the speed is way down.

It used a standard ethernet RJ-45 patch cord, NOT a crossover.

rapidfire, if you were not supposed to use a patch cable, it wouldn't work at all, so the speed issue is not the work of the cable. Try using the modem on a single computer and see if the problem still occurs.
