advice on running cable

i need to run approx 120 feet of cat 5 from upstairs room to room downstairs at the opposite end of house i have phone jacks in both locations.
how to i do this without upsetting my wife

any tips etc. ??

Do it when she's not home. But really either you have to go through walls or around them. Maybe you can run the wires on the outside of the house. Kinda hard to hide blue cat5 though. Some of my walls are brick, so I had to go along the outside of the house about 100 feet also. I tucked the cable under the siding where I could. Can't see much of the wire. Maybe a local sub-contractor that installs cable, alarms ect, will run it for you, if you've never run cable before. Your wife might feel better if a "pro" runs the wire also.
