Frontier Dsl Ping slightly high

Post by joecool169 »

What do you guys think of this trace route. The tech was out today and fixed my 500ms ping to google, and said this is as good as it gets. It seems like the ping is high at hop 2?

Hop 2 is a bit high, but not too bad, depending on how far it is from you, how congested it is, and what's the interference on the line between you and that node... Do other clients on the network get similar latency to that hop ?

Yeah, I tested my neighbors and his was similar. I was just looking at it thinking "damn I ping google in 35ms, but the first hops is 25ms". If that were not so high there, my ping would be awesome. If the first hop is the router, what is the second hop?
