Hey Guys,
This is so frustrating and I could use a bit of help.
I have a HP m8000n. I was having some issues with the computer running slow so I did a bios update through windows. After rebooting, the BIOS is giving me an error
Award BootBlock BIOS v1.0
BIOS rom checksum error
It then check the CD drive for a bootable disk
I don't have a floppy drive so I've been trying to do this using a CD. I've tried so many different ways but this one seems to be the most promising. I downloaded the Windows ME DOS image from this link:http://www.thetechguide.com/howto/winmebootcd.html, burned a boot cd using Burnaware Free and added the flash utility Awdflash.exe and the .bin file to the CD. The problem is I cannot for the life of me find these files after it boots into dos. I get the A: prompt and doing a dir doesnt show awdflash or the .bin, C: is the ram drive ... my files aren't there either. I tried burning a data CD with just those two files, changing out the CD thats in the drive but I then get disk read errors. I've also tried using barts cleanboot but it hangs while booting. It seems that this Award Bootblock will only boot into DOS so there doesn't seem to be any other way around this.
Any ideas??
Thanks so much!
Matt

Ok Figured it out finally.
Followed the instructions at this website to create the bootable cd: http://www.biosflash.de/e/bios-boot-cd.htm#Download
And used this thread at majorgeeks: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread ... 1074897%29 to get the correct Awdflash and downloaded the BIOS file from HPs website
