Fixed both my upstairs toilets today, very happy..

Post by Shinobi »

Both toilets upstairs needed new washer in the fill valve plus both of them needs new flappers in each as they were both slightly running. Both lowes and home depot did not have either part, so I was able to find them on line (FYI: Great place to find plumbing parts! http://www.plumbingsupply.com/ )

Never replaced any parts in the hopper before, followed instructions online, both are working like "brand new" now. :thumb:

I also heard a tip to save money, put a regular red brick in to each hopper and you'll use less water and save month on your water bill. I'm trying that as well.

Watch that brick idea.. some don't like the constant water flow and may break apart, go down your pipes and then cause all kinds of problems.. you can do the same thing by just lowering the float lol

Putting an object in the tank does not work well in the Al Gore toilets (the 1.5 gal tanks). As it is you must flush them twice for an average dump, thus using more water than the older style 2.5 gal toilets.
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.
